Teaching practice


In that day we were in a speech given by teacher Orlando Gomez and Teacher Yanira Peña, about teaching methods and techniques.


After that the groups that were mossing to present their class pass to teach it.

Grammar
The first group was Olga, Wilfredo and Alex. They taught about grammar with the passive voce.
Olga started with a game for warm up with two balls that we had to thro in the trash can, if the ball fell outside the trash they showed us a verb and we had to write the pas participle form of the verb on the board.



Second Alex started to explained the structure and the rules for the passive voice and we were asked to work in groups in a worksheet that Wilfredo gave us. Later they gave us an envelop with some words to make sentences using the passive voice. And to finished the class Olga gave us a workcheet to write the process of planting a fruit tree.












Listening

The second group was Emmanuel, Andrea and Ricardo, they  taught a listening lesson and their topic was "living statues". They started the class asking some question about livving statues to introduce the topic that we were going to listen later.

Then they play the audio once and gave us a worksheet select if the sentences were true or false.


After that a second worksheet with the audio wrtten was given to ut inorder to select the correct word depending what we listened in the audio. Manuel checked both worksheets with the whole group.
Finally they form groups of three and gave us some molding clay to create a statue.and there are some pictures of the statues we created.

First teaching practice

In this class we teach the lesson we prepared last class.

Vocabulary


The first group to present their topic were Rocio, Katherine and Beatriz. Their topic was sports and their skill was speaking (vocabulary).
Their class started with an activity in which we were asked to make 2 groups and pass to the front to write any words that comes to our mind with an specific letter.Then to present the topic Rocio start pasting the sports´pictures in the borad and asking the question "Do you like (sports) ? "for wevery sport she pasted in the board, after that the question "what sport do you practice?" was wrtten in the borad and asked to some students.



They have pasted some words related to each sport under some desks, they asked to look for it and paste them on the board next to each sport.Then we were asked to stand up and make a circule to practice the vocabulary together.

Then Beatriz gave us a worksheet that was about matching the sport with the object that we use to play it. In the final activity we were asked to work in groups with some images that Katherine gave us to ask and answer the question "What sport do you practice?".

Grammar
The second group were Pamela, Steve, Carlos and Andrea. They presented Grammasr and their topic was Present percfect tense. Steve started with a little game in which we were asked to find out the unscrable verbs he shoied us and writhe them in the board. Then Pamela started explaining the rules for tghe present percfec. 


After that we were asked to work in groups to fill out some sentences in a worksheet that Andrea gave to us and then Carlos gave us envelopes with words inside for us to create sentences in the present pecfect tense. 


Listening

The third group were  Melissa, Antonio and Gabriela. their skill was Listening. The listening was about a dog that work in the police. They started the class presenting some vocabulary related to the listening we were going to listen, Melissa wrote the word in the board an then asked if we knew some of the words and explained the meanings. 
Then Antonio played the audio and after that we were asked to guest the tittle of the audio and the person who was closets to the real tittle was gonna win a candy.Then the audio was played again and a worksheet was given to us to complete to order the events according to the audio.

Reading

The fourth group were Beatriz, Hilda and Brenta thir skill was reading and their topic was contries. They started the class giving us a letter soup with many words. Then the reading was given to us, we read it in group and then some questions were asked.. 


The last activity was to create a similar story about El salvador and pass it to the class so every partnet write somthing in our pages continuing with the same story. 

Vocabulary
Wendy, Diego and me were the fifth group, aour skill was speaking (vocabulary) and our topic was Mothers earth. We started the class presenting the vocabulary by giving the words and their definitions  to the students they were asked to find the correct definition of the words and pasted on
 a poster we have pasted in the board.After they have pasted the words and the definitions we explained the vocabulary about enviromental problems and some solutions to solve them. 

Then students passed a ball that change its color and we asked them some meanings to check if they remember what we have taught them. The final activity was to forms 4 groups and a phrase related to save the envirment was given to neach group. Each groups was asked to create a political party and some ideas to erradicate  the enviromental problems in their comunity using the slogan or phrase we have give to each group. when they finished they passed to the front to present their political party and ideas to help the enviroment.

Planing lessons

In this class we were aksed to form groups in order to teach a class next friday.
Teacher assigned different topics to each group about reading, listening, vocabulary, etc. The whole class we spent the time planing our lessons and preparing our materials for next class.





Teaching presentations

In the second class teacher had asked us to create some groups to prepare some presentations. He had assigned different topic to each groups that were "How to teach Reading" , "How to teach Listening" , "How to teach Grammar" and  "How to teach Vocabulary " .In the fisrt part of the class we finished to prepare the material for our presentation and after break the presentations started.

First day of class


On July 21st we had our first class and  the teacher Orlando Gomez explainted to us what this subject was about and some activities that are planed for the rest of the semester. He also started telling us that when we are teacher it is impoortant to be sociable and not to be afraid of talking at public or do embarrasing things, specially if you are teahing to children.
To break up the ice in the first activity the teacher asked us to make groups of 4 or 5 people and  then to think about a movie´s scene to drmatize it in front of the class. He also gave different emotions to each group like embarrasing, sadness, fear and love and  asked us to make up a story related with the feeling he has just given us and to prepare a dramatization of the story.


For the movie´s scene my group chose an scene from Shrek and the other groups chose scenes from white chicks,The walking dead and Titanic.

Hi Welcome to my blog! My Name is Fatima Carolina Peña. I am 22 years old. 
I am in my third year at Don Bosco University and I am studing to be an English teacher. I love helping people and I consider teaching is a great way to do it and that is why I have chosen this career. In the time I have been studing teahing I have realized I really love what I am doing.
